The MentorShift Group is Lori Bachman’s creation. Lori’s experience ranges from senior executive coaching to building high impact product teams, with clients across the nation. She is a highly effective speaker, trainer and communicator.
Lori’s passion is mentoring and for good reason. During both her corporate career as an aerospace finance executive and as a business owner herself, she has seen companies flounder in mentoring programs that often have a short shelf life, fall to the wayside as “last year’s initiative,”and then the same formerly involved individuals give up and walk away because mentoring seems too hard or awkward. Those employees don’t just walk away from a mentoring program; they often head straight for the door.
Her years as a financial executive and corporate leader have given her a keen eye and vital insight that, for businesses, there is an essential equation for success:
Effective Mentoring = Engaged Employees = Higher Productivity = Less Attrition = Increased ROI and Stronger Bottom Line
For this reason, she has dedicated herself to teaching a forthright way to pass on skills between any mentoring pair or team that not only benefits the organization’s goals, but also equips each individual to mentor others.
Lori earned a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Denver and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Wheaton College (IL).
Prior to launching The MentorShift Group in 2011, Lori led teams in multi-billion dollar merger and acquisitions projects. In that role, she enjoyed “helping everyone play together well on the playground” as she navigated the waters of combining oftentimes rival companies to create shareholder value.
She grew and matured in her leadership in the aerospace world, and enjoyed years of working with and learning from real “rocket scientists”, gifted engineers and astronauts who had been to the moon and back. Literally.
Since launching the MentorShift Group in 2011, she has had the opportunity to work with clients across a range of industries: Banking, Wealth Management, Telecom, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Engineering and Technology.
Lori lives with her family in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. With two teenagers still at home, there is never a dull moment. You might find her relaxing by hiking with the family in the nearby Rockies, tinkling the ivories on her piano, or playing a delightedly wicked game of Words with Friends.
Lori Bachman created The MentorShift Group to equip mentors and mentees with a practical and powerful mentoring system. The system is designed to equip those who use it to, not only flourish in their own mentoring relationships, but to be able to transfer its success to others as well.

Six Strategies to Accelerate Talent Development, Reshape
Your Culture, and Succeed with Purpose
For over thirty years, my passion has been to help managers and executives take ownership of their career potential. My skill is to give you endless new thinking that challenges your assumptions and explores new behavior outside of your comfort zone. Together we take your leadership style to the next levels — all to create a better future for you and your organization.
I’ve been honored to work with some of the best and brightest from GE, Microsoft, Pepsi, Novartis, Time-Warner, NASA, American Express, Dell, Kraft Foods, Citicorp, Deloitte, Kellogg’s, McDonalds and UAL — to name a few of my client companies.
My ten business books have been published in a dozen different languages, and I’ve been fortunate to work in eighteen countries and with many more cultural backgrounds.
My expertise has brought front-page coverage in the publications like Wall Street Journal and USA Today, and made me a welcome guest on the Today Show, Good Morning America, CNN, and CBS where I was interviewed by Diane Sawyer.
Condé Nast Portfolio magazine wrote, “Debra Benton is one of the top five coaches to have on speed dial.” TopCEOcoaches.com ranked me in the top ten coaches in the world and as the number one female coach in 2013.
My time is divided between advising individuals as their professional mentor and executive coach; speaking to large and small groups; and researching to distill patterns of personal leadership that will enable you to lead the next generation of teams.
My work outside of my company is to teach leadership in Colorado State University’s MBA Global Social & Sustainable Enterprise program and serve as an adjunct professor at UNC’s Monfort School of Business.
On the personal side, I’m the proud daughter, sister, and wife of a veteran. Happily married to retired ranch manager and cowboy, Rodney Sweeney and reside in the foothills of Northern Colorado in a small ranching community.

Our crazy lives are jam-packed with “busy” and the stress and worry that we think are just part of the package. Studies by Positive Psychology expert Shawn Achor and others show a direct correlation between happiness and success.
The number one barrier to happiness is: stress. Every relationship in your life is affected by how you handle stress; as a calm person who can listen and empathize or as a stress puppy who is focused on what’s driving you crazy.
Every company culture is judged on employee happiness, which determines hiring, retention, productivity, and long-term growth. What if you and your team could take a few minutes, breathe, and release that stress and worry? Now imagine relaxing enough to actually feel happy…
What would a change like that mean for you, your team, and your business success? Learn how to make a powerfully positive shift happen quickly. Amy leads your group through the practices from her book so you can start the transformation now and build on that foundation in just a few minutes a day.
Amy found the secret to building a lasting foundation of happiness when she needed it most and has since built a thriving business. In her interactive workshops, she shares how she found a way to transform her constant anxiety by embracing the positive power of gratitude. And how you can, too.

At thirty-one, Tricia Downing was in the best shape of her life. In the summer of 2000, Tricia, an avid cyclist, drove across the country for what amounted to eighteen races in twenty-three days. She returned from her adventure to a fresh start: a new job awaited her, and determined to make the next summer the year she would make her mark on the world of cycling, she began a rigorous training strategy.
But on September 17, 2000, Tricia Downing’s life took a detour. While training on a her bicycle one sunny Colorado afternoon, Tricia collides with a car that turns directly in her path, and instantly becomes paralyzed from the chest down. As a competitive road and track cyclist and lifelong athlete, losing the use of her legs is devastating on all accounts. As she re-learns to do everything from sitting straight up to navigating through her house in a wheelchair to returning to work and operating a handcycle, her grueling recovery takes her to the very core of her athletic mettle. This inner strength helps her to not only learn how to live life as a paraplegic–a label that takes time to grow accustomed to–but to have the courage to return to the competitive sport she loves and almost lost. Determined to live life on her terms, Tricia turns her misfortune into opportunity, and is now a wheelchair racer, competing regularly in triathlons around the globe. Cycle of Hope chronicles Tricia’s journey from the first terrifying moments of impact with the car through rehab and her emergence as a world-class athlete.

MATTHEW TAYLOR award-winning author, professional actor, storyteller and speaker has been educating and entertaining audiences throughout the United States and internationally for the last twenty-five years.
Matthew masterfully curates stories and the art of storytelling for individuals and teams. He formed Persuasion through Narrative in 2010 to galvanize people’s leadership and communication skills through a clear understanding and utilization of the irresistible power of story.
Goat Lips delivers a thought-provoking romp through a lapsed Englishman’s life, who—after a quarter century of living in the United States—realized he’d neglected to renew his subscription to England. Matthew’s relentless wit and insight is front and center as we bounce between England and the United States, experiencing one hilarious, and sometimes poignant, tale after another—from escaping the clutches of the law to the pain and joy of parenthood, discovering the dangers of real ale and the agony of not being heard, whilst savoring a fiery dessert, the glamour of show business, the awkwardness of nakedness, and the utter wrongness of a Jesus piñata! His ability to question the assumptions of everyday life with a wry grin, tender touch, and a twinkle in his kind eyes makes Matthew’s tales endlessly entertaining. You’ll want to read them more than once and even share them aloud with others in your best English accent.
